Mainescape

When Don Paine graduated from Syracuse University in 1977 with a degree in landscape architecture, he knew exactly where he wanted to be.  His family had long-established roots in the coastal Maine town of Sedgwick, and in short order he started a design/build landscape business in the nearby town of Blue Hill and named it Mainescape.

Since then, Don and Althea Paine have built Mainescape into a one-stop garden center for local gardeners and pet owners, as well as a community gathering place for events and locally grown produce.

Stop in for a locally baked pastry and wander through the fresh local produce and our large selection of plants, rugs, pet supplies, soils, fertilizers, seeds, tools, and pots.

Our friendly staff will answer any questions you might have.

"I like gardening - it's a place where I find myself when I need to lose myself."

~ Alice Sebold
